What you need to know
Your first step will be to book a consultation where the dentist will assess your teeth and discuss your whitening goals. An impression will be taken of your teeth for custom made whitening trays which you will receive at a follow-up appointment in your easy to use, take-home kit. Your kit will have everything you need to whiten your teeth along with simple step-by-step instructions that your dentist will run through with you.
You will be required to attend two appointments – one for the impression and the second to collect the kit - which will only take around 10-15 minutes each. Once home your treatment will take around 10-14 daily applications of 30-45 minutes, depending on your desired result.
At your first appointment, you may be asked about your medical and dental history and be advised on what foods and drinks to avoid for best results. You may feel some sensitivity when starting out with tooth whitening and you will be advised by your dentist on what to do if this occurs.
